This is the sort of thing that has been happening at my university, The University of Minnesota: the casualization of the labor force - replacing experienced workers with low-salary, short-term workers. At the same time the executive administration has been steadily giving itself pay raises: over 1500 administrators now make over $100k per year. At the same time, tuition has been rising rapidly. The overall trend has been towards the powerless (students, union workers) getting screwed while those in power increase their profits despite their unaccountability to the public.
