Context Independent Historical Comparisons

Apparently, political positions remain consistent over time and we can neatly divorce all positions from their historical context and assume that a democrat today is no different from 1950s dixiecrat or 1860s secessionist.

    I saw this as well. Bill Kristol is out of his mind. I saw the video of this and he has a smug “oh look how clever and subversive I am” smile on his face. He knows what he’s saying isn’t true, but he delights in making things up just to push whatever it is that motivates the neocons.
